India will soon launch an ace driving class for drivers in the country, to help them in navigating the traffic, a government official said on Monday.

The pilot project, which will run for one year, will teach the students about traffic management, traffic and traffic accidents, and provide them with the tools to understand the complex traffic situation in the city.

It is likely to be launched soon, said Dinesh Bhattacharya, the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic in the capital New Delhi.

India has about 2.2 million licensed drivers and the country has more than 5,400 traffic accident fatalities per year, making it one of the most dangerous places to drive in the world, according to the Insurance Institute of India.
